Skirted Kitchen Sink -- Retro Style

Is this the cutest kitchen or what? I found this darling image online and kept it as I was working on my own kitchen. I too have a skirted sink. This one looks classy. What old kitchen in a retro home doesn't have a skirted sink? Let's face it cabinets have been moved, updated and the like and doors don't fit or were lost or tossed in the process. I also love the mirror above the sink, gives a touch of glamour. I think I will work on my own retro kitchen and give it an inexpensive upstyle with a new skirted sink, after all my old skirt is kind of old and dingy.

Let's face it. Ghosts are retro, and oooh so fun. I am already in the mood. Found these cuties on Photo Bucket. I so covet these. Truly must make. Get in the mood for Halloween, it is just right around the corner.

Calabacitas Recipe -- Use your Zucchini and Tomatoes

Is your garden over run with zucchini and tomatoes? Well if it is -- Calabacitas is the dish for you!!

3-4 zucchini

1 can Nibblets corn -- or 1 cup frozen corn

1 15 oz can stewed tomatoes - or equivilant of fresh tomatoes, peeled (if your garden is full of tomatoes1 medium onion

1 or 2 cloves garlic

1 tablespoon butter

Cut and saute zucchini, onion, garlic, in butter, until onion is translucent and zucchini is cooked/soft. Then add your stewed tomatoes, and your corn and simmer until flavors meld about 10 - 15 minutes. Then eat and enjoy.

If I have left overs, the next day I add a can of black beans drained and some hamburger meat and serve it up.

Canvas as a Headboard. Great in small spaces, or for highly textured walls. You could also do 9 squares. In addition, you could cover with fabric if you didn't want a painted one. This painted stripe would be easy to do. What are you waiting for?

Concrete Blocks as Planters!! Great Idea!! I have some old ones in the back that are taking up way to much room. Now if I could only figure out how to get some water in there for a water feature it would have everything I need.

Vintage Fur - Rachel Zoe Faux Fur QVC

Okay vintage lovers. Who doesn't love vintage fur more than Rachel Zoe? Well if it is too expensive for you, (it is for me), or you don't want to wear real fur even if it is vintage, check out Rachels new line. It has lots of faux fur, accessories, and handbags. Debuts on QVC September 12 at 8pm eastern time. Check your guides for times. Looks like everyone can have a Gilet - (a fancy fashion word for vest). Can't wait. I am sure it will be a sell out as all Celebrity lines on QVC are. Oh well, I will tune in, although maybe not for the full 3 hours that it is scheduled for.

Giada De Laurentiis Food Network

Ran across Food Network Star Giada De Laurentiis's home in an issure of Architectural Digest. Great home, with some new furniture with retro appeal and looks.

This look below can be captured with a White Parson's Desk from Walmart $69.00 and a piece of glass or plexi on top of the desk. Go with the leather office chair they have there for $49.00 in white or yellow and it is a great retro feel.

I love orange. I love it inside and out. I wish I was brave enough to put furniture with cushions on my back patio, but alas, here in the southwest also known as the spider capital I don't, I would always be looking under the cushions for a spider.

Red and Chrome. Need I say more? Okay, I will, I love red leather chairs, use them in my own home. They always have a wow factor.

Coco Before Chanel

Eagerly anticipating the movie Coco Before Chanel. Love the fact that she was into interior design. Most people just know her for her cologne, and her magnificant fashion. Wow Fact: Her apartment above the Chanel Shop at 31 Rue Cambon is exactly the same as when she died in 1971. What a great archive it must be. Love the long sofa and library wall. Classic. Alot can be learned from classic style. Designers are still using sofas in front of library walls today. Want to get that look. Take the dust covers off your books and display them with their colored bindings.

It's no secret I love Vintage. I love Rachel Zoe. She has done tons for vintage. Made it more respectable. Yes, I know kiddies that vintage is classic, but hey, not everyone does. So when I saw tons of posts and questions on that great tassel bracelet she is wearing I thought where can I find something inspired by on the cheap. Saw several knock offs but they were $60.00+ and let's face it that's not cheap in today's economy, oh and did I mention they were gold filled.
