Repurposing Rattan Barrel Chairs

So I found these chairs on Craig's List. 2 for $70.00. Now to repurpose them for my daughter. The photos below show some ideas. I will post more next week. We have picked the fabric, it is a black, white, yellow and gray flower print, gorgeous.

So when watching 9 by Design, they are doing an office and they repurpose barrel chairs. Yep, barrel chairs.

Then, Saturday when I was watching Sarah Richardson, (yes, I am hooked on great design shows), Sarah repurposed a barrel chair for her kitchen in her Farmhouse.

Ok, now I am hooked on redoing barrel chairs.

Coco Before Chanel

Eagerly anticipating the movie Coco Before Chanel. Love the fact that she was into interior design. Most people just know her for her cologne, and her magnificant fashion. Wow Fact: Her apartment above the Chanel Shop at 31 Rue Cambon is exactly the same as when she died in 1971. What a great archive it must be. Love the long sofa and library wall. Classic. Alot can be learned from classic style. Designers are still using sofas in front of library walls today. Want to get that look. Take the dust covers off your books and display them with their colored bindings.

Red -- Rocking Chairs - Vintage to Now

After picking the 2nd ripe tomato from my garden it got me to thinking about Red. I love red. I have red leather chairs in my family room, mixed with a brown leather sofa. Red can be new. Red can be vintage. I am getting ready to re-do a spindle rocking chair that we bought when our daughter, who is now in college was born. It was originally white, and I was thinking black, but now after posting the pictures below, I am thinking Red.....will post pics when done.

Furniture Redo - Card Table Chair

Browsing through the Flickr - Furniture Redo Pool and Free Market Pool, I ran across this great chair redo by All Things Artsy. Artsy got the chair for $1.00 and repainted it. I love the green and orange together. What a great chair. I think I have some of these old card table chairs hiding out in my garage.
